Soror Irene Regidor Doñoro was born in Madrid on August 14, 1942. Ever since she was very young she has felt a great interest in knowing about other religions and philosophies that would allow her to become part of the Universal Tradition that she already sensed was the heritage of all humanity.
After an intense quest, she joined AMORC in 1979. She became a member of the Columbus Lodge in Madrid and was appointed Regional Monitor in 1988. Two years later, in 1990, she was appointed to the office of Grand Councilor for the Central Region in Spain.
In 1992, the Spanish Administration was created. Soror Regidor was appointed General Administrator and, along with Frater Francisco Gil Sarrión, carried out the task of organizing this administration. Two years later, the Supreme Grand Lodge raised the status of the Administration to Grand Lodge and it became the Grand Lodge of the Spanish Language Jurisdiction for Europe, Africa, and Australasia.
In 1994 Soror Regidor was installed by the Imperator in the office of Grand Master, and, with the valuable collaboration of Frater Francisco Gil Sarrión, General Administrator, has worked since then in the service of the members and for the greater glory of AMORC.
Discourse
Daniel was a true seeker. Obviously an “old soul,” from earliest youth Daniel sought to understand the laws of nature that manifested around him, the mysteries of the Creator of the Universe, and the answers to timeless questions that have always challenged humanity: Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going?
Leaving home, Daniel traveled the world seeking answers to these burning questions. He gained much knowledge, but still something was missing. Finally, after many years and many countries, Daniel chanced upon a lonely wanderer who provided him with some real insight.
Daniel explained to the stranger: “I have studied in depth the mysteries of the Trinity, hoping that through Christ’s word I might reach the Heavenly Father. I also learned about the cycles of life and the laws of dharma. The Unity and multiplicity were revealed to my eyes and I can grasp the hidden mysteries of the Kabalistic Tree of Life. I have perceived every manner of asceticism, and devoted hours in plumbing my inner self through meditation. Why can’t I then find happiness?”
The wanderer replied: “It is clear from what you say that you are highly evolved in an important aspect of your human personality. Since you have dedicated your life to the search for God and your spiritual growth, you obtained more Knowledge than most people on earth. But Knowledge is not Wisdom. And Wisdom may not be realized unless all aspects of one’s personality are integrated. Although motivated by the highest of ideals, you have up until now lived only for yourself and missed the fact that you cannot manifest perfection until you develop those qualities that one learns only from other human beings, and which may be acquired only in the lofty school of life through interaction with others.
“Look at the river running through the meadow. You see in the riverbed smooth stones that at first were jagged, now rounded and polished with time. It took many millennia to smooth their edges away. This was not achieved effortlessly but by the rubbing of one against another under the action of water and other natural elements. Human beings are like those stones; we can aspire to smoothnessto perfectionif we grind against each other, allowing ourselves to be worked on by waters of events and winds of experiences. The rough edges are our flaws, and it is these that make men unhappy and prevent earth from being the paradise it should be.”
After this commentary Daniel meditated for a few minutes. He then exclaimed, “For some time now I have pondered your words and the mystery they convey. Tell me, stranger, who are you and where did you acquire such insight?”
To this the pilgrim replied, “I belong to an old school of wisdom that from times of ancient Egypt has incorporated into its teachings all human knowledge. Its name is Rosae Crucis, and few there are who seek to pass through its portals, since only those who are suitably ready can enter. And among those who join, only those with stalwart hearts remainthey who are willing to better themselves and to surmount ignorance. This school teaches what I have shared with you. Human beings have as a life’s goal the search for knowledge of God; but those who think they can reach Him by abandoning the world are mistaken. The path to God’s heart threads inexorable through the hearts of men. Though various may seem the by ways, the one true path to finding God is LOVE.”
Thus began Daniel’s new mission: to live among people, to help them, and to fully understand how the power of LOVE moves the world.
