From the Grand Lodge

Unity
by Julie Scott, Grand Master, Grand Lodge of the English Language Jurisdiction for the Americas, AMORC

Julie Scott serves as the Grand Master of the English Grand Lodge for the Americas of AMORC and the TMO as well as its President and Chief Executive Officer. She is also a Director on the Board of the Supreme Grand Lodge of AMORC. Soror Scott has served as a volunteer on the local and regional levels of AMORC and the TMO for many years and is profoundly grateful for the ways in which these Orders have enriched her life.

Soror Scott was born on August 24, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1995 she moved to San Jose, California, to serve as the Director of the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum.

Soror Scott is a teacher and a student. Her favorite subjects include history (especially ancient Egypt), myth and ritual, and sustainable business practices. She has a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.

Soror Scott most appreciates spending time in nature, including long walks on the beach, riding her bike through forests and especially being outdoors at Rosicrucian Park amidst its beauty and tranquility, tending the plants and talking with visitors.

Discourse
The 2004 AMORC World Peace Conference began with a call to hearken to the voice of our conscience, represented by the Colombes who enfolded us in their Light and Love. The Imperator then welcomed us to this auspicious event, important in the history of our Order, and announced the new Rosicrucian Day of Peace that will be celebrated by Rosicrucians throughout the world every year on the third Saturday of June. Then Grand Master Sven Johansson led us to face the Master Within in his meditation on the Creed of Peace.

Yesterday, Grand Master Irene Regidor shared thoughts on our relationship with each other and Grand Master Peter Bindon spoke on our relationship with nature. Grand Masters Maximilian Neff and Irène Beusekamp-Fabert led us in meditations on service and harmony. We then joined together in silent meditation for world peace.

Today, Grand Master Serge Toussaint presented thoughts on our relationship with the Cosmic and Grand Master Live Söderlund led us in a meditation on Love. Then Grand Master José Luis Aguilar-Moreno spoke on Oneness.

And now in a brief meditation, let us focus on Unity, bringing together the experiences of these three days which have been focused on peace and that have united us with all Rosicrucians—past, present, and future.

(Meditation follows.)

Now, aware of the peace within yourself, in our relationships with each other and with Nature, and our oneness with the Cosmic, we bring our meditation to a close. When you are ready, please open your eyes.

My discourse concludes with the Rosicrucian Peace Conference Final Presentation video, which offers inspiring Rosicrucian music and images that beautifully sum up the mystical theme and elements of our days together here in San Jose. I hope you will enjoy it.

Fratres and Sorores, may the work we have done this weekend not end here or now. May it continue to live on in your hearts and in your thoughts, words, and deeds. As two Rosicrucians once wrote, “Let there be Peace on Earth, and let it begin with me.”

So Mote It Be!
