Why does the Rosicrucian Supply Bureau no longer accept
mail-in orders?
The English Grand Lodge would like to continue to serve as a resource for members to find items that are helpful in their Rosicrucian studies and may be somewhat difficult to find elsewhere. In order to provide the best service possible and to keep the costs of offering this service reasonable, we implemented the following improvements on September 21, 2007:
All retail orders require a credit card and can be placed online through our webstore, which is open 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. As some of you may recall, we established this policy a few years ago and then little by little loosened it to allow for checks and mail-in orders. Unfortunately more than 85% of the checks we receive are for the incorrect amount and it is very time consuming and expensive for us to contact members, correct the orders, etc. The percentage of incorrect mail-in orders is about the same. Therefore in order to keep our prices reasonable for everyone and to be able to continue to offer this service, we will only be accepting credit card payments and only through the webstore. Also, we do not ship to P.O. boxes.
However, these changes, along with the redesign of our online retail system, have resulted in some great benefits to our members and friends, including:
- Free shipping on book orders of $25.00 or more, courtesy of Amazon.com
- Frequent book discounts, courtesy of Amazon.com
- A wider selection of books, including book lists for current RCUI classes and upcoming Book Salons, along with bibliography reading selections from recent issues of the Rosicrucian Digest
- And, downloadable publications for members, including monograph indexes

I don't want to use my credit card online. How can I order member supplies?
Purchasing online with your credit card is quickly becoming more safe and secure.
Please be assured that our checkout process provides you with secure 128-bit encryption for your security, this means that all your submitted personal information is encrypted and much more difficult for would-be frauds to access. In addition, any and all information collected on our site is kept strictly confidential and handled with the utmost care. We would never sell, reuse, rent, disclose, or loan your personal information.
There a many protections set in place for the online customer. The US has the Fair Credit Billing Act, which guarantees your right to dispute unauthorized charges on your credit card and most credit card companies offer fraud protection that protects you even further against unauthorized use of your credit card. You can contact your credit card company for specific information on how they protect you in the online purchasing environment.
If you would still prefer not to use your credit card online, here are some options that may work for you:
- Ask your credit card company about "virtual credit cards," these are single-use card numbers that can be used online so you don't need to give out your real credit card number
- Obtain a credit card with a low limit and use only this card for online purchases
- Purchase a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express gift card the next time you are at the grocery store (these gift cards can be used just like a credit card and they are available in useful increments, $25.00, $50.00, etc.)

If you don't have a credit card, you can purchase a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express gift card at various locations including supermarkets (these gift cards can be used just like a credit card and they are available in useful increments, $25.00, $50.00, etc.)

I don't have a street address. How can I order member supplies?
We require a street address registered with the USPS for all orders and we do not ship to P.O .Boxes.
If you do not know your registered street address or do not have a street address, we suggest you contact your local post office for assistance.
