"The Occult Influence of Music" - Rosicrucian Digest, July 1951

We must be in tune before music reveals it’s occult qualities. When sound, interpreted inwardly, results in a lifting of the consciousness, we can speak of the occult influence of music. We will discuss how musical tones and overtone patterns are produced. The ear is not conscious of each tone however, they still bombard the eardrum. It is in the range of the unperceived vibrations that ‘occult’ effects take place. Planets whirling around give off their series of overtones, which we perceive as the Music of the Spheres.
